Dental implants can replace missing teeth from the root to crown, delivering a stable bite and smile. They are the best way to replicate your natural teeth and regain confidence.
Dr. Cristina Herrera provides dental implant restorations at Los Gatos Community Dental and has the technology required to offer excellent results faster.
Teeth-in-a-Day – Los Gatos
Because Dr. Herrera is equipped with a CEREC in-house milling station, she can fabricate a quality crown in her office. That means after your visit with our top local oral surgeon, you can often receive a crown the same day your implants are placed.
Our Los Gatos prosthodontist can also place completely functional dentures to complete your full arch restoration immediately following your implant procedure.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are titanium posts that act as artificial roots for your replacement teeth and can permanently support the following restorations:
- Crowns – replace individual teeth
- Bridges – replace a row of missing teeth
- Dentures – replace a full arch of missing teeth
- Overdentures - replace a full arch of missing teeth, but are removable
What Is Involved in the Dental implant Procedure?
X-rays and impressions are taken of the jaw and teeth to help Dr. Herrera develop an individualized plan that will determine the placement and spacing of the implant(s). The posts are inserted into the patient’s jaw bone and typically heal in three to six months. It’s during this time that the post is integrating with the jaw to provide the same stable hold a natural tooth root would.
While it’s typical to wear a resin temporary while healing, with CEREC, we can craft a quality permanent crown right in our office on the same day.
Our practice in Cincinnati provides dental implant restoration in conjunction with a top local oral surgeon who places the implant as we prepare your appropriate prosthetic.
Reasons for Dental Implants:
Dental implants have become the gold standard for tooth replacement. The prolonged absence of teeth can contribute to bone loss in the jaw which can give your face a sunken look. Missing teeth also change the spacing of your teeth, which can lead to TMJ dysfunction.
At her practice in Cincinnati, dental implants have restored Dr. Herrera’s patients’ ability to smile openly, eat, and drink without embarrassment
